Along with the rapid development of marine engine room automation, the computer control technology obtained a widespread application in the marine engine room automation control systems. Thanks to its characteristics of distribution, open style, interconnection and high reliability, the industrial field bus has become the development trend of ship engine room automation. As a kind of field control bus, CAN bus has been widely applied in the modernize fuel supply system and detecting system of main engine because of its high reliability and good error detection capability.Taking marine diesel engine RT-flex60C type as the object of research, main engine fuel supply unit of intelligent monitoring system is designed and realized in this thesis based on the STM32series of core processing chip and CAN bus communication protocol.Firstly, this thesis expounded the background of the subject of this thesis briefly-the design of intelligent monitoring system in the main engine fuel supply unit from the difference between the RT-flex60C main engine with traditional engine and the perspective of ship engine room automation and ship turbine simulator. Then, the article analysed the overall design of the intelligent diesel engine fuel supply system, the equipment composition and the working process. Finally, the circuit scheme was designed according to the control principle of fuel supply unit, meanwhile the real-time communication between data with PC was achieved based on the corresponding communication protocol of fuel supply unit function and the application of CAN bus.The monitoring unit selected STM32F107chip as the core processing unit, which is come from STMicroelectronics company and with ARM Cortex-M3as the root. Moreover the power circuit, input and output interface circuit, CAN bus communication circuit were designed with the Altium Designer circuit design software. After that all the function code of this unit were completed under the IAR EWARM5.3programming software environment.In considerations of the universal property, the fuel monitoring unit provides some common communication protocol interface. So it can not only be applied in the supply unit of main engine, but also can meet the functional requirements of simulator. From the principle of design and the debugging result, this article introduced the feasibility and good practicability of the designed monitoring unit.
