How to get an energy saving central air conditioning system is the focus of research to reduce building energy consumption. At present, the main methods are reducing the terminal devices energy consumption, using the advanced control algorithm to control the pumps and fans with the parameters, such as pressure, temperature, and concentration of carbon dioxide. In engineering project, the design of central air conditioning system is always based on the maximum load. Except some extreme weather days, the system dose not need to work under the ma maximum load. Obviously, additional pressure loss exits in this system. And this status hinders the system running efficiently. We found that pipe system installation layout significant impacts on the water head loss. This solution is particularly obvious in trunk pipe. This paper built pipe system model in central air conditioning system, and analyzed the system energy loss with head loss, experimented with a practice system.This paper built a pipe energy consumption model and estimated the pressure loss in central air conditioning system. With the research to structure of pipe system in central air conditioning system, the pipe system was divided to different parts. Firstly, according to the pipe system installation layout, this paper got the actual construction drawing. Secondly, this paper calculated head loss using engineering fluid mechanics formulas, and linked these formulas with conservation of energy and flow. Finally, with using pressure diagram, this paper applied the mathematical description to practice pipe system and got the pressure distribution.According to the pipe energy consumption model, this paper found the parts which had extra energy consumption in pipe system, and proposed the energy saving solution. This paper used the model to a practice system, and got calculated pressure distribution. With contrasting to measurement pressure distribution, the pipe energy consumption model was usable. This paper proposed the energy saving solution. The pressure diagram showed that energy consumption reduced14%. The pipe energy consumption model built in this paper can be used to calculate head loss, then get the pipe system pressure distribution. With the use of pressure diagram, we can understand pressure status directly, and analyze pressure loss quickly. It can help researchers find the parts which had extra energy consumption in pipe system.
