A large number of vulnerable groups, the old, the young and the disabled people, have strong desire to participate in our social life and enjoy the beauty of life as other perfect people. Therefore, the government has given more and more attention to barrier-free environment construction. It is becoming an indispensable part of urban construction. It is also one of the reference points to judge whether a city is civilized.In this paper, the background, purpose, significance and basic ideas of barrier-free environment construction were expounded.
