With the rapid development of domestic architectural decoration industry, the stone products are chosen as decorations by many people preferentially, because they are generous and classic. The stone processing machinery is developing rapidly with increasing demand of the stone products. The demand of the most widely used stone bridge cutting machine is also rising rapidly. However, most of domestic productions is far from meeting the requirements of market because of low-automation, low-precision and single-function. Therefore, the method of "PC&motion control card" is proposed to develop stone bridge cutting machine CNC system which is high-precision and diverse-function.Firstly, the development of CNC technology at home and abroad is introduced. The application of CNC technology in stone bridge cutting machine is described briefly. The development trend of stone processing equipment is analyzed. Then, the mechanical structure and function of the stone bridge cutting machine is introduced briefly. The system hardware structure is constructed and the googol motion control card is used as the control core. At last, the software architecture is designed, and it is divided into several modules according to different functions.In this paper, the software is studied mainly, including graphics files identification, graphics processing, motion control, stone contour processing. In the graphics files identification and graphics processing module, the procedure of identifying graphics files is designed, as well as the algorithm of contour recognition and trajectory optimization is studied. The reasonable data structure is designed to store graphical information. The functions of point selected, rectangle selected and restoring DXF files are realized to improve operational flexibility. In the motion control module, some functions of the motion control card are introduced. In the stone contour processing module, the reasonable technical procedure of processing is developed according to processing tool and movement characteristics, the functions of automatic tool changer and processing integration are realized, reasonable solutions are put up to solve the key issues of contour processing, and the key algorithms are studied deeply.Finally, the stone bridge cutting machine CNC system which is high-precision and multi-functional is developed. The results by testing in the workshop show the system is stability and reliability, the machining accuracy is improved obviously.
