In push forward the sustainable development of the global economy on the road, thewind power industry has became one of the most important members of emerging industries.In the wind power industry, when a wind farm was constructed, wind turbine selection is acritical step because in can determine the commercial value.A series of problems were been existing in the wind power industry in our country, suchas an annual generating capacity and expected generation difference between large, the highelectricity prices and other conditions. The fundamental reason is that the unit selection workwasn’t met the requirements. When wind turbine had the most preferred type, then we alsoneed to design new technologies for wind turbine processing and manufacturing, numericalsimulation technology has played an important role here.Starting from the characteristics of the wind resource,it was introduced the mainparameters about the wind resource applications and the relevant requirement of wind turbineselection in the paper.Wind resource assessment software WAsP was been application andcombined with measured wind speed data XiaoCaoHu wind farm,wind resources were assessed,and the region’s wind resources characteristics was get.4megawatt wind turbines were chosen, andanalyzed the characteristics of wind turbines, their generating capacity were obtained throughthe WAsP software.The selection method was as followed, comparative analysis of generatingcapacity and economic cost,select the suitable wind turbine models for this wind farm.Thenin the expansion of wind turbine selection,use CFD software FLUENT to simulation windturbine blades characteristic in the wind farm.FLUENT software multiphase flow sandnumerical simulation,gain the trajectory of the sand,opened up the development of windturbine optimization design in sand erosion serious areas,so choose the best models on theroad.Combine with the actual situation, the study and analysis of wind turbine selection andturbine blad numerical simulation provides an important basis for the actual wind farm construction, improves economic efficiency, and provides the direction for designing bestmodels of wind turbine.
