When the wind site (wind resource) confirmed, the selection of the wind turbine is important to the yield of wind farm, because the wind turbine determined the power generation, the investment and the cost of operation & maintenance. The paper put forward two analytical methods: the capacity coefficient and specific cost of per kWh, the specific cost of per kWh was firstly put forward and used in wind turbine selection. Moreover, a simple and convenient method of generation calculating was also put forward. In the end, apply the calculating method to one project, and calculated the capacity coefficient and specific cost of per kWh. Using two analytical methods, four different kinds of wind turbine were selected optimally. Besides, the paper also research on the technology of wind resource's measuring & evaluating, the wind turbine's running characteristics and so on.
