A Study On The Conservation Of Workers’ Residential Under The Industrial Heritage View

The paper is divided into two parts, the first part is the study on the value ofthe object, the second part is the study on the methods of conservation and reused.The object of this paper is the workers’ residential,which were constructed ona large-scale after the liberation to supply the developing of industry.And now theyare existing whith large number,but lots of them have the worrying situation andprospects. In the beginning of this century, the Chinese researcher began topractice the conservation of Industrial Heritage,and the workers residential as apart of it got the attention slowly. In these paper， under the view of IndustrialHeritage the writer introduces the research progress of protection of workers’residental in China, depicts the residential construction history and their socialbackground. Base on these information, the writer focus on relationship betweenthe workers’ residential and Industrial Heritage,and consider that the residentialmake up of the integrity of Industrial Heritage. All of those can ensure that theresidential has the different values in different city,and those particular valueshould be taken carefully in adaptation.Then the writer recorded workers’ residential in four cities of northern China,shows the similarity of beginning, but very different ending. According to thesurvey results, summarized the practical problems they facing, and last divided theresidentials into two kinds, one is existing largely without especial character, theother is very especial, but the life is approaching death. At last writer given twodifferent conservation methods, the ordinary one perfer to looking to the future,reserving the social and cultural values, and the especial one perfer to keepingexist, adapting the situation of development of city.Finally, the writer re-emphasized the important of conservasion ofresidential’s particular values in different city, and find more flexible way toconservation them，even established the plane for exposition, and meet the needs ofcommunity.
