China, which is considered as the cradle of hybrid rice, is the major hybrid rice-growing States of all. The Birth of hybrid rice makes a Tremendous Contribution to resolve the problem of food insecurity in the world. During the processes, breeding can be seen the key link, it is directly related to production and progression of hybrid rice. Excessive and excellent seeds can help increase the outputs, improve the quality and promote the further development. Pollination with sufficiency and well-distributed is the ways and means to achieve this goal. As traditional pollination way, hand assisted pollination is widely used in China, which is labor intensive, low productivity and process restricted. So it is extraordinarily useful and constructive to design a hybrid rice pollination machinery to help guarantee pollination rate, improve productivity, and promote application.The study of mechanical pollination is still in testing step in China, there have no perfect research of pollination theory, also pollination technique. This paper focused on the study of pneumatic pollination, which has a better effect on actual production, building up a pneumatic pollination model, analyzing motion characteristics, and then designing pollination experiments. Several major influential elements were chosen out to make single factor experiments and orthogonal experiments. The relationship between factors and pollen distribution could be concluded from analyzing the test results, it can provide scientific basis for further study of pollination machinery by airflow.Models of spout flow field and pollen motion were built up; the characteristic of pollen motion was divided into two different parts to describe the distribution of pollen. Then made single factor experiments with airflow speed, affected position and affected angle, comparing horizontal distribution and vertical distribution at different levels, obtaining the interactional influence. Orthogonal rotational quadratic combination test with hree factors four levels tests was made to evaluate combined influence on effective area ratio, average density and non-uniformity of pollens distribution, and then regression equations to describe the relationship of factors and each assessment index were established with Design-Expert8.05Data processing system, also with optimum combination of input parameters was obtained and verified.During the experiments, some novel but applied methods were used, just as making horizontal sampling and vertical sampling. The former could response distribution character and the later could response propagation character, together could provide reference for distribution of pollen. In addition, Solidwork software was used to imitate space distribution, draw Spatial Distribution Maps. Design-expert was used to design orthogonal rotational quadratic combination test, built regression equations and make optimization and verification. It can provide theory and experiment basis for further study of pollination mechanism and developing pollination machinery, also can greatly promote the progress of industrialization and Scale Manufacture.
