This paper selects typical producing areas for flue-cured tobacco of different flavor styles.Investigated soil forming materials and soil types of each areas, collected soil samples from arable layerand other layers, determined soil pH and contents of main nutrients. Analyzed the suitability of soil pH,status of main nutrients and profile distribution of pH and nutrients in each typical producing areas.Compared the disparity of soil pH and nutrients between flue-cured tobacco of different flavor styles.Designed to find out the main problems in the tobacco production and put forward the relevantsuggestion. In order to provide a scientific basis for the quality characteristics of flue-cured tobaccoproduction. The main results are as follows:1、There were big differences between soil pH in typical areas for flue-cured tobacco of differentflavor styles. Soil pH of typical fen flavor flue-cured tobacco areas was slightly lower; Soil pH ofmiddle flavor style tobacco areas was significantly higher than that of fen areas, the change was greatand distribution was uneven. Soil pH of full flavor style tobacco areas was significantly higher than thatof middle areas, generally alkaline.2、There were big differences between soil organic matter in typical areas for flue-cured tobacco ofdifferent flavor styles. Fen flavor flue-cured tobacco areas were rich in organic matter. Soil organicmatter of middle flavor style tobacco areas was significantly lower than that of fen areas and full areas, most of samples in Linqu and Mengyin of Shandong province were lack of organic matter, soil organicmatter in Zunyi of Guizhou province generally suitable. In full flavor flue-cured tobacco areas, Guiyangand Jianghua of Hunan province were rich in organic matter, Xuchang of Henan province was lack oforganic matter.3、There were significant differences between total N,total P and total K in typical areas forflue-cured tobacco of different flavor styles. Fen flavor flue-cured tobacco areas were rich in totalP;total N were rich; total K had wide distribution, suitable, rich and very rich level were accounted largeproportions. Middle flavor style tobacco areas: total N have wide distribution, very lack, lack, suitableand rich level were accounted large proportions; total P were suitable and total K were rich. Full flavorflue-cured tobacco areas: Total N were very rich in Guiyang and Jianghua of Hunan province, total Nwas lack in Xiangcheng of Henan province; total P were rich and total K were suitable or rich.4、There were significant differences between alkali hydrolyzable N, available P and available K intypical areas for flue-cured tobacco of different flavor styles. Fen flavor flue-cured tobacco areas: alkalihydrolyzable N was rich; available P was rich or very rich; available K has wide distribution, lack andrich level were accounted large proportions. Middle flavor style tobacco areas: alkali hydrolyzable Nwas lack; available P was rich; available K was suitable or lack. Full flavor flue-cured Tobacco areas:alkali hydrolyzable N, available P available K had wide distributions, alkali hydrolyzable N,available Pand available K were rich or very rich in Guiyang and Jianghua of Hunan province, available P was lackin Xiangcheng of Henan province, alkali hydrolyzable N and available K were lack or very lack inXiangcheng of Henan province. 5、There were big differences between exchangeable Ca and Mg in typical areas for flue-curedtobacco of different flavor styles. Fen flavor flue-cured tobacco areas: exchangeable Ca was had widedistributions, lack and very rich level was accounted large proportions; exchangeable Mg was suitableor lack. Middle flavor style tobacco areas: exchangeable Ca and Mg were rich or very rich. Full flavorflue-cured Tobacco areas: exchangeable Ca was very rick and exchangeable Mg was rich.6、Profile distribution of pH and nutrient:PH was increased with soil depth: Contents of organicmatter, total N, total P, alkali hydrolyzable N, available P and available K were gradually decreased withthe soil depth; Content of total K was the same in different soil layers; Profile distribution ofexchangeable Ca and Mg were not obvious.7、Soil forming materials of fen flavor flue-cured tobacco areas were sandstone, limestone anddolomite, soil types were red soil, yellow soil, and paddy soil, some areas need to regulate soil pH,improve soil quality and raise soil fertility. Soil forming materials of middle flavor flue-cured tobaccoareas were limestone, granite, dolomite and calcareous slate, soil types were cinnamon soil, brown soil, paddy soil, thick bone soil and yellow soil, some areas need to regulate soil pH, improve soil quality, raise soil fertility, prevented soil and water loss. Soil forming materials of full flavor flue-cured tobaccoareas were weathering product of limestone, dolomite and alluvial sediment, soil types were paddy soil,fluvo-aquic soil, cinnamon soil and cinnamon soil, some areas need to regulate soil pH, improve soilquality, raise soil fertility, improving the drainage condition, prevented succession cropping obstacle.
