Planting Ground cover plants is one of the way to improve garden quality. It is clear that the research about shade-tolerance of the island feature cover plants for the optimization allocation of ground cover plants and the landscape arrangement in different special environments.This paper expounds the development and utilization of five kinds of island vegetation resource and the stress resistance research progress. Combining with the ecological and landscape ecological principles, this paper has a preliminary probe into the allocation model of five ground cover plants.This paper has been farming on five plants which were cutted in different seasons of the experiment, and analysis the influence to survival rate of cuttings and rooting speed according to the different seasons and different ABT concentrations. On this basis, in the experiments, eurya japonica、eurya emarginata、rhaphiolepis umbeuat、gurgeon stopper and ilex crenate were used as experimental materials.with three treatment situation including the one65%layer and two65%layers of shading net covering and without shading for six months cultivation, this pape gives a comprehensive measurement for the morphological index such as the relative growth rate, shoot length, leaf weight, leaf length and leaf width, leaf thickness, and the physiological index determination such as the chlorophyll content, leaf water content, free proline content, electrical conductivity and others. Study on different shading conditions on plant morphological and physiological indexes of comprehensively measure, and through the calculation and analysis of the numerical value of the correlation coefficient, to determine a reasonable judgment the standard to the shade tolerance capacity, and make a judgment to the shade tolerance size of the five kinds of plant.The results show that:1、The results obtain best cuttings season and ABT concentration to different plants, while the results show that it to the different plants by different cuttings season and ABT conditioned have the different degrees affect.2、The resources development level of the five ground cover plant is not high. It’s only in the basic research and landscape, and in the initial stage. on industrial seedling is less, and the market seedlings are also less. But due to strong resistance and excellent development prospect, part of seedling is having prices but no market. Study on resistance is also limited to the laboratory studies of eurya japonica、 eurya emarginata, mainly in the physiological index.3、Study on shade tolerance shows, three kinds of different shading conditions have different influence on five different ground cover plants. Measured the index before and after the experiment, such as morphological index including five species of leaf weight, leaf length and leaf width, leaf thickness, relative growth rate, shoot length, and chlorophyll content, leaf water content, free proline content, electrical conductivity, all in the change trend.4、According to the quantitative research of the shade tolerance of the five species of ground cover plant, this article discovers that multi-physiological index except some individual data, showes a good correlation. It have consistency to these indicators in the five kinds of plant shade tolerance from high to low consistency. judging by these deta five kinds of plant shade tolerance from high to low order:eurya japonica,eurya emarginata,rhaphiolepis umbeuat,gurgeon stopper,ilex crenate.
