Mastitis and reproductive failures are two of the main problems plague the buffalo breeding industry. According to the research, the concentration of selenium and Vitamin E in dietary relate to the incidence of the mastitis and the reproduction performance of female buffalo. In this essay, we mainly investigate the effects of dietary with Se and VE on the incidence of mastitis and the performance. This finding may provide a theoretical help for buffalo industry.Experiment I:70experimental female buffalo were divided into two group, trialarm and control, according to their milk yield, wright, lactating stage, etc.. Buffaloes in the control were fed by the basic dietary. In the other group, they were fed by the basic dietary with8g composite powder of sodium Se and Vitamin E (1.6mg of Se and200mg of VE per capital per day). During the trialarm, the incidence of mastitis and the concentration of Se and Vitamin E were measured at a certain time. The results show that,60th days, the incidence of mastitis reduced38.34%;90th days, they are drop47.98%. Meanwhile, the concentration of Se and VE increased strikingly (P<0.05). This result indicates the dietary with Se and VE supplement can reduce the incidence of mastitis. Experiment II:design of this experiment is similar to the experiment I. The milk yield, composites of milk, SCC and the concentration of Se and VE of milk were measured in this experiment. The results shows that the milk yield of the test group slightly improved the total milk yield increased6.48%in nail,6.1%in mola,5.17%in Low hybridization,6.32%in3kinds of miscellaneous,7.05%in the first-fetal buffalo, and4.78%in the multi-fetal buffalo; no striking changes were showed in the composition of milk; the number of somatic cell in the test group was higher than it in control group (P<0.05); the concentration of Se and VE increased strikingly. This finding indicates that the dietary with the Se and VE supplement can enhance the production performance.Experiment III:design of this experiment is similar to the experiment I. The experimental buffaloes contain70postpartum and16antepartum buffaloes. Those70postpartum buffaloes were used to do the reproduction statistic, and those16antepartum buffaloes were used to do the postpartum disease statistic. The results show that, in the test group, the conception rate was increased by47%, the rate of200estrus was increased by55%, the average mating period was decreased by42%, the mating index dropped by32%and the period between the first heating and the first birth dropped by53; the incidence of the mastitis and the metritis dropped by25%and12.5%, respectively. This finding indicates the dietary with Se and VE can enhance the reproduction performance.
