Food Security has become a global hot issue. China’s population is numerous,demand for food is great, but the per capita arable land in our country is far lower than theaverage level in the world, China is facing a severe food security problem. In order toknow the actual situation of food inventory, country will cost a lot of manpower andmaterial resources every year. And the problem of empty granary continue to emerge inrecent years, so our country need urgently to have a low cost but efficient solutions toachieve the detection of empty granary in order to save a lot of manpower and materialresources. Granary’s temperature as an important indicator to measure the grain storage,the use of the existing grain storage temperature measurement system can easily obtain thetemperature of the grain mass, and studying how to use the grain mass temperature todetect empty granary is an optional program. This article takes advantage of the concept,and then establishes a comprehensive solution for detection and early warning of emptygranary.Through consulting a large number of literatures, the temperature field mathematicalmodel of the grain mass based on heat transfer theory is built. Through the research of theinternal situation of the grain mass system and take advantage of the laws ofthermodynamics, heat transfer and energy conservation law, this article establish amathematical model of the grain mass temperature fields which is used to analyze thechanges of temperature in the grain mass. First, this paper introduces the basic knowledgeof heat transfer, focusing on the derivation process of the heat conduction differentialequation and the rational selection of boundary conditions. Follow, by a detailed analysisof building process of mathematical model of the local temperature field in the grain massand using finite element method to this model, this paper has proved the validity of themodel. Finally, this paper based on the temperature field model takes use of the carefulanalysis of reasons which caused to appear empty granary to summed up the seven kindsof early warning status about empty granary, and establish the state criteria for each warning status, which form a complete set of empty granary detected and early warningsolution for empty granary. In the end of the paper, based on the findings of this paperdevelop a early warning system of empty granary. In practical application, this system hasachieved good results, confirmed that the proposed solution is reasonable and effective.
