Seeding is an important part of agricultural production. The ultimate purpose of theseeding process is that crops sown in the field, and get the suitable spacing for crop growth.Precision seeding is an important measure to increase production. At present, the majorityplaces of China adopt precision seeding technology. The precision seeder mostly usesmechanical seeding and its seeding places are fully enclosed. Different degrees ofmiss-seeding, congestion or empty phenomenon will be occurred in sowing. If fault occursand unable to discover and deal with it timely, it will result in a large number of crops cutting.Therefore, the design of a precision seeder monitoring system for the current farming modelis extremely important. It can improve the quality of sowing and realize the agriculturalmodernization.This article designed a real-time monitoring system which is based on the requirementsof the subject in the northeast area for conservation tillage, and it has the function ofautomatic compensation for miss-seeding. The system is designed to select the enhancedSTC12C5A60S2microcontroller as the control core and use the non-contact capacitivesensor as a detecting device. Hardware system includ the liquid crystal display module,alarm module, motor driver module, keyboard input module and the automatic compensationmodule. Precision planter monitoring system can do a real-time monitoring for the wholeprocess of sowing and simultaneously displayed the operations results and failure mode andfault location will on the LCD module. If the fault had been occurred in the seeding process,the corresponding automatic compensation device will realize it timely, then doing themeasure to reduce or even avoid the miss-seeding.Furthermore, considering the bad tillage environment, we take some protectionmeasures by software and hardware design in order to improve the anti-jamming capabilityand ensure that the system which can be able to achieve its intended function successfullyduring the operation. When the sensor install at straight-line distance of60mm form theSeeding Planting port and the seed tube inclination of45°, the sensor detection accuracy rateand correct rate of monitoring system are more than98%. The results witch by debuggingand testing acquired show that, the choice of capacitive sensors can accurately detect to seed flow signal and the system is reliable, accurate, and able to achieve the requirements of theintended function.
