Two60-day feeding trials was conducted to evaluate the potential of replacing white fishmeal (WFM) with brown fish meal in experimental diets and effects on the growth,ability ofanti-oxidation of Chinese soft-shelled turtle。WFM was replaced by brown fish meal at fourinclusion levels of0%,50%,100%and100%+yeast selenium (diets1-4) in trialⅠ andfive inclusion levels of0%,10%,20%,30%and40%(diets1-5) in trialⅡ. The effects ofwhite fish meal replace by brown fish meal on the feeding, growth performance, ability ofanti-oxidation of Chinese soft-shelled turtle were studied. The main findings (results andconclusions) were as follows:1The replacing of white fish meal with brown fish meal will reduce the growth rate andutility of feeds, therefore, in Chinese soft-shelled turtle diet, the white fish meal can not bedirectly replaced by brown fish meal partly or totally.2The activities of SOD and level of MDA increased with the increase of the potential ofreplacement. The antioxidant capacity of Chinese turtle performance increase, the organismmembrane damage intensified.3In the0.3mg/kg organic selenium added group, the antioxidant capacity and SODactivities decrease and MDA improved, which indicate that the membrane system damageand the amount of organic selenium may produce toxic effects on Chinese soft-shelled turtle.
