| The objective of this experiment was to study the effect of silage additives on the quality of whole corn silage. The whole corn silage was made in Xijiao dairy farm, Demao dairy farm and Jiuxian dairy farm and experimental group with additive, the control group without additive. Samples from experimental and control groups of three farms were taken at the0day of ensiling and stored in the2L space cup for further fermentation. Along the silage fermentation,0,3,9,24and57days were chosen to test the nutrient change, every time6cups was replicated. At day0, pH, DM, CP, NDF, ADF, Ash and fat of silage were analysized. At day3,9,24and57, pH, DM, acetic acid, propanoic acid, butyric acid and lactic acid was tested. The ratio of ammonia nitrogen and total nitrogen, the number of saccharomycetes, NDF rumen degradability, DM rumen degradability and silage aerobic stability was also measured at day57. The results were as follow:1. The nutrients of silage from three dairy farms have no differences between experimental group and control group in day0.2. The pH between experimental group and control group has no difference at days3,9,24and57, the pH decreased great significantly (P<0.01) with fermentation time prolong. There is no significant interaction between additives and silage storage time.3. The DM of experimental group was higher than control group, difference is not significant. The DM of experimental group increased significantly (P<0.01) with time compared with control group. There is obvious significant interaction between additives and silage storage time (P<0.01).4. The concentrations of acetic acid, propionic acid and butyric acid of experimental group was lower than control group at each sampling point, difference was not significant. The acetic acid, propionic acid, and butyric acid was down with time, but the difference was not significant. There was not significant interaction between silage storage time and the supplementation of silage additives.5. The lactic acid of experimental group was significant higher (P<0.01). than control group in every test point The lactic acid went up significantly by adding the silage additive (P<0.01). There was significant interaction between silage storage time and silage additive adding (P<0.05).6. The ratio of ammonia nitrogen and total nitrogen as well as number of saccharomycetes in experimental group were lower than control group, but difference was not significant at day57. The NDF and ADF of experimental group are significant higher than control group (P<0.05) at day57. The CP of experimental group is higher than control group, difference is not significant at same time.7. The NDF effective degradability of experimental group was higher than control group, difference is not significant. The DM effective degradability of experimental group was significant higher than control group (P<0.05).8. The secondary fermentation time of experimental group was2days later than control group. The additive witch was used in this experiment improve the quality of the whole corn silage. |
