Establishing a ecological civilization society is written in the party report of the17th and18th CPC national people’s congress. The promulgation of 《Law of The People’s Republic of China on Water and Soil Conservation》 provide that we should strengthen the water and soil conservation monitoring of production and construction projects. It makes it carry out throughout our country widely.Relying on the afforesting landscape and related facilities construction projects of the9th China (Beijing) International Garden Expo, and according to two years’ water and soil conservation monitoring of that project, author have got some data and outcome. According to these data, author analyzed the state of affairs of the soil and water loss of that project. And then analyzed and evaluated the effectiveness of the soil erosion controlling of the project.Water and soil conservation monitoring is a new field in China. Since water erosion is a complex process and it is hard to follow its laws, which result that there are many difficult problems in the monitoring work. These thorny issues directly restrict the authenticity and accuracy of monitoring results. The authors used several different monitoring methods to monitor the condition of the soil and water loss and the soil and water conservation of the project. And through the long-term monitoring to the project, the author made a detailed analysis and summarized some experience which is deserved to draw from, which is about the common problems in the process of monitoring, such as the selecting of monitoring indicators, the choice of monitoring methods and the layout of the monitoring points.
