Study On Correlation Between OPN And MMP-2in Hepatic Alveolar Echinococcosis To Invasion And Metastasis

Objective: To investigate the expression of osteopontin（OPN）andmatrix metalloproteinase-2（MMP-2）in hepatic alveolar echinococc-osis（HAE）,and explore the role of OPN and MMP-2in the invasionand metastasis of HAE infection.Methods: Expression of OPN and MMP-2in HAE tissues from69patients with in12nomralliver tissues.HAE were detected using SPimmunohistochemical technique,the eorrelation between OPN andMMP-2expression and clinieopahtologic features was analyzed.Results: OPN and MMP-2mainly distributes in the cyst wall aboutgranuloma inflammatory cells of HAE and and the peripheralportion of stromal cell and liver cells,the positive expression rate inHAE focus and normal liver tissue at the junction of the invasivemargin the most obvious.The results showed that the positive ratesof OPN and MMP-2in HAE tissue were72.5%（50/69）and59.4%（41/69）,respectively, and in normal liver tissue were16.7%(2/12)and8.3%(1/12),respectively. The positive rates of OPN and MMP-2 in HAE were significantly higher than those in normal liver tissue（without P<0.01）. The positive rates of OPN and P21in HAEtissues with metastasis were86.8%（33/38） and76.3%(29/38),respectively, which were higher than that in HAEtissues without metastasis. OPN and MMP-2positivity wasremarkably correlated with the metastasis in HAE（without P<0.01）.The positive expression of OPN and MMP-2weren’t related to thesize of tumor bulk, HBsAg, gender, age and nation of tumor. Rankcorrelated analysis showed that OPN and MMP-2were positivecorrelated（r=0.36，p<0.01）.Conclusion: OPN and MMP-2mainly distributes in the cyst wallabout granuloma inflammatory cells of HAE and and the peripheralportion of liver cells,the positive expression rate in HAE andnormal liver tissue at the junction of the invasive margin the mostobvious, which might be invasion and metastasis of HAE.
