ObjectiveProstate cancer takes an important position in male malignancie. The incidence rate has grown rapidly in recent years. It does harm to men’s health seriously. Effective definiting diagnosis of prostate cancer becomes the key to the clinic. Diagnosis of prostate cancer relys on the prostate biopsy for pathological diagnosis. This study was designed to study prostate biopsy for a better model and to improve the clinical detection rate of prostate cancer, the research will improve the diagnosis and guide treatment of prostate cancerMethodsEight hundred and sixteen patients were selected from July2006to Dece-mber2011. Using finger rectal examination, it was found that66cases of the nodules and the prostate-specific antigen (PSA)<4ng/ml. One hundred and ninety-eight cases were the PSA between4to lOng/ml and the f/tPSA and the prostate-specific antigen density (PSAD) were abnormal. Situations of the PSA>10ng/ml without considering the f/t PSA ratio and the PSAD value were found560cases. The method of the needle biopsy of the prostate syste-mic standard12cores (or12+1cores, that is increasing one puncture core ra-ndomly in a suspicious ultrasound echo region at the same time) was guided by transrectal ultrasound. The clinical data were summarized.ResultsThree hundred and fifty-eight cases of prostate cancer are confirmed in816patients. The total positive rate is about44%. Two hundred and thirty-five cases of positive located in the prostatic apex4cores (C, F, I, L), accounti-ng for66%in total number. Nine cases of postoperative fever is accounting for1%. Forty-nine cases of concurrent hematuria isaccounting for6%. Almost all patients had short-term blood in the stool. No other serious complication a-re occured.Conclusions12+1cores systematic prostate biopsy in the diagnosis of prostate cancer has a certain advantage. This method is positioning accurately guided by ultra-sonography. Considering the prostate cancer occurred in the peripheral zone, t-he prostatic apex and the peripheral region is taking puncture focus. The punc-ture site is more reasonable, less trauma and fewer complications. The method can also increase the puncture core randomly, make the puncture more flexible and improve the detection positive rate of prostate cancer.
