Objective:The concentration of serum NSE, S-100β, IL-1(3and MDA are detected in epilepsy patients with interictal stage in order to evaluate whether there is some difference between epilepsy patients and normal people. Meanwhile, to explore the neuroprotective effects of the "cocktail" therapy for epilepsy patients with abnormal perfusion foci, the changes of serum NSE, S-100β, IL-1β and MDA were also detected in epilepsy patients before and after treatment with ligustrazine injection, citicoline sodium injection, edaravone injection, magnesium sulfate injection. Methods:From March to August in2011, the diagnosed epilepsy patients were collected from epilepsy center in Second Hospital of Lanzhou University,30cases of cryptogenic epilepsy patients were included according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria. At the same time,30healthy people as control group were also included. To determine the seizure type, the patient’s general situation was completely recorded. Subsequently, these patients were given tetramethylpyrazine injection, citicoline Sodium injection, edaravone injection, and magnesium sulfate injection therapy. Serum was extracted pre-and post-treatment in two groups, respectively. The concentration of serum NSE, S-100β, IL-1β, and MDA were detected by ELISA. The data were statistically analyzed by SPSS17.0software.Result:A total of30patients and30normal controls were selected, the average age were19.6±3.6years old.32male and28female, male to female ratio was1.2:1. The age of the subjects in this group was7-24years old, the average course was8 years. These patients are cryptogenic epilepsy seizures, and generalized tonic-clonic seizures are the main form. Compared to control group and post-treatment, there was no statistically significant difference for the concentration of serum NSE、S-100β、 IL-1β、MDA levels in epilepsy patients before treatment.Conalusion:In this study, compared to healthy people, there was no significant difference in serum NSE、S-100β、IL-1β、MDA levels for epilepsy patients in interictal stage. Similarly, for epilepsy patients with low perfusion by SPECT in interictal stage, we found that "cocktail" therapy did not produce ischemic reperfusion injury in repairing chronic ischemic repair lesions. In addition, the "cocktail" therapy can reduce the concentration of serum NSE、S-100β、IL-1β、and MDA levels for epilepsy patients with low perfusion by SPECT in interictal stage and repair abnormal perfusion brain lesions in epilepsy patients, and thus play a neuroprotective role.
