Objective:To explore the relationship between serum CXCL5levels and insulinresistance in individuals with obesity or overweight and the association of serum CXCL5levels with anthropometric parameters, glucose-lipid metabolism parameters, in order toprovide some theoretical foundation for the occurrence of obesity and T2DM.Methods:106subjects with normal glucose regulation were divided into normalweight group (A,43cases),overweight group(B,43cases) and obesity group (C,20,cases)according to BMI. Then we detected serum CXCL5levels and TNF-α of all subjectsby ELISA method. Fasting plasma glucose (FPG), insulin (FINS), glycosylatedhemoglobinA1c (HbA1c) and lipid profiles were measured as well. Insulin sensitivity wasassessed by HOMA-IR.Results:①Serum CXCL5levels in obesity group[(1204.63±272.75)pg/ml] and thatin overweight group[(1058.36±385.38)pg/ml] were significantly higher than those incontrol group [(874.06±394.51) pg/ml] according to ANOVA (P<0.01, P<0.05respectively); CXCL5levels in obesity group were significantly higher than those inoverweight group(P<0.05)②serum CXCL5levels in females[(1158.41±406.86)pg/ml]were higher than those in males[(910.72±343.41)pg/ml](p<0.05respectively)③SerumCXCL5levels were positively correlated with BMI, WC,WHR, TNF-α, TC and LDL-C(r=0.240,P=0.026; r=0.486,P=0.000; r=0.369,P=0.009; r=0.349,P=0.014;r=0.363,P=0.010;r=0.341,P=0.017, respectively), but not with HOMA-IR(P>0.05)④Stepwise regressionanalysis showed that WC(r=0.446, β=0.001)and LDL-C(r=0.276, β=0.031)were theindependent variables of CXCL5.Conclusion:①CXCL5might play a role in the path physiology of obesity and lipidmetabolism.②We didn’t find the correlation between CXCL5level and insulinresistance.③Sex hormone may affect serum CXCL5level.
