Objective Colorectal adenomatous polyps(also known as colorectal adenomas),a pathological type of colorectal polyps, are considered to be precancerous lesions that can progress to colorectal cancer.Studying the risk factors of colorectal adenomatous polyps can improve our understanding of the early stage of colorectal canceration.Preventing and treating colorectal adenomatous polyps in time can reduce the incidence and mortality of colorectal cancer. At the same time, identifying the risk factors of colorectal adenomatous polyps can provide guidance for the formulation of prevention strategies for colorectal cancer. At present, the risk factors for colorectal adenomatous polyps are not yet clear, and there may be differences in risk factors for colorectal adenomatous polyps in different regions and different populations. This study explored the risk factors associated with colorectal adenomatous polyps in some populations in Hefei, and analyzed the effects of risk factors on the biological characteristics of colorectal adenomatous polyps. Methods The patients who underwent colonoscopy from January 2016 to January 2018in Hefei First People's Hospital were chosen into the study.According to the exclusion criteria,217 patients with colorectal adenomatous polyps were selected into the observation group, and 191 patients with normal colonoscopy were selected into the control group. The age distribution of colorectal adenomatous polyps between different genders in the observation group was compared.Univariate analysis had been used to compare the differences in age, gender, smoking history, drinking history, appendectomy history, history of cholecystectomy, hypertension, diabetes, fatty liver, gallbladder polyps, gallstones between the observation group and the control group, and two-class logistic regression analysis had been used to identify the risk factors for colorectal adenomatous polyps. Finally, the effects of risk factors on the biological characteristics of colorectal adenomatous polyps were analyzed. Results The incidence of colorectal adenomatous polyps in different genders increases with age,and 60 to 70 years old was the peak incidence of colorectal adenomatous polyps. In addition, before the age of 50,the incidence of colorectal adenomatous polyps in women was slightly lower than that of men;the incidence of colorectal adenomatous polyps in men increased significantly between the ages of 60 and 70,and the incidence of colorectal adenomatous polyps in women also increased significantly between the ages of 60 and 70;the incidence of colorectal adenomatous polyps in men after the age of 70 was the same as that before the age of 50.In the univariate analysis, there are statistically significant differences in gender, smoking history, drinking history, fatty liver, gallbladder polyps, and gallstones between the observation group and the control group(P<0.05).Age as a risk factor for colorectal adenomatous polyps has a statistical trend;Two-class logistic regression analysis shows that the risk factors for colorectal adenomatous polyps including:men(OR=1.724,95%CI=1.105-2.690,P=0.016),age?60years(OR=1.829,95%CI=1.190-2.809,P=0.006),fatty liver(OR=2.337,95%CI=1.236-4.417,P=0.009),gallbladder polyps(OR=6.284,95%CI=1.711-23.084,P=0.006),gallstones(OR=2.974,95%CI=1.179-7.505,P=0.021).Gender affects the number(?~2=7.905,P=0.005)and size(?~2=10.982,P=0.001)of colorectal adenomatous polyps, fatty liver(?~2=12.238,P=0.002)and gallbladder polyps(?~2=6.473,P=0.039)affected the site of colorectal adenomatous polyps, and gallstones affected the size of colorectal adenomatous polyps(?~2=7.260,P=0.007).Conclusion The incidence of colorectal adenomatous polyps in different genders increases with age,and 60 to 70 years old was the peak incidence of colorectal adenomatous polyps.Men,age?60 years old, fatty liver, gallbladder polyps, gallstones are the risk factors for colorectal adenomatous polyps,in which gender, fatty liver, gallbladder polyps and gallstones affect the biological characteristics of colorectal adenomatous polyps, and the presence of fatty liver, gallbladder polyps or gallstones in the ultrasound or CT examination can be used as an indication for colonoscopy in elderly men.
