Objective: This subject tried to observe the effect of acupuncturing “guanyuan” pointand “sanyinjiao” point on Chronic Non-bacterial Prostatitis (CNP).Methods:60cases of CNP were divided into two groups which were “guanyuan”point group (30) and “sanyinjiao” point group (30) according to the random number table. All patients were measured respectively with pain symptoms, voiding symptoms and thequality of life, according to the Chronic Prostatitis Symptom Index (CPSI). Casesin"guanyuan" group were given therapy by acupuncturing "guanyuan" and uniformreinforcing-reducing method. Cases of “sanyinjiao” group were given the same therapy byacupuncturing “sanyinjiao” point. After three periods for two groups of all treatments, cases were taken estimates in pain symptoms, voiding symptoms, the quality of life andtotal ratings compared. Results: The results were that effective rate of the “guanyuan” group was83.3%, the“sanyinjiao” group effective rate of66.7%. It was significant difference (P﹤0.05) in twogroups between total scores of the CPSI and the curative effect after treatment, explainingthat the curative effect of the “guanyuan” group was much better than the “sanyinjiao”group. There were very significant difference (P﹤0.01) on the two groups in painsymptoms, voiding symptoms and the quality of life scores of pre-therapy andpost-treatment consequences which compared. It indicated that the two groups had definiteeffect in three symptoms of CNP. The two groups which provided similar efficacy had nosignificant difference (P﹥0.05) in the term of the post-treatment pain symptom. It wassignificant difference (P﹤0.05) in two groups of the post-treatment voiding symptoms and the quality of life scores. It shows that effect of the “guanyuan” point was so much betterthan that of the “sanyinjiao” point between voiding symptoms and the quality of lifescores. Conclusion: The “guanyuan” point was better than the “sanyinjiao” point in theacupuncture therapy for Chronic Non-bacterial Prostatitis by this study. The results wouldoffer an objective reference for choosing points in clinic on further study of ChronicNon-bacterial Prostatitis.
