Effect Of Yiqi-huoxue Decoction On Serum Of TNF Alpha,IL-6and ICAM-1in Patients With Angina Pectoris(Qi-deficiency And Blood-stasis Syndrome)

Background:Coronary heart disease has become one of the most leading causes of morbidity and mortality among different regions. Recent decades, mortality rates of coronary heart disease have increased significantly in most developing countries, including China. By2020, coronary heart disease will become the world’s largest cause of death and disability. Current researches have confirmed that inflammation plays a key role in the formation and development of atherosclerosis and its clinical manifestations. It is since long been recognized that inflammatory cytokines are involved in every step in the atherosclerosis process and an inflammatory response is triggered that leads to the development of atherosclerotic plaque. Trying to reduce inflammatory cytokines, inhibits inflammatory response by exogenous stimulus, such as Traditional Chinese Medical Formulae, has become another hot spot in the therapeutic areas of cardiovascular disease.Objective:To investigate the effect of Yiqi-Huoxue Decoction (Baoxin Decoction)on serum of Tumor Necrosis Factor-alpha(TNF-a), Interleukin-6(IL-6) and Intercellular adhesion molecule-1(ICAM-1) in patients with angina pectoris. Moreover, preliminary study on the therapeutic effect and possible mechanism of Yiqi-Huoxue Decoction (Baoxin Decoction)on coronary heart disease. Methods:60patients were randomly divided into two groups as follows:treatment and control groups, The patients in therapy were treated with Baoxin decoction, and those in control group were subjected to routine treatments, and30cases in healthy control group included。 The levels of serum of TNF-a, IL-6and ICAM-1before and4weeks after therapy were measured in the these groups. The curative effectiveness was evaluated.The result:1. The level of serum of TNF-α, IL-6, and ICAM-1between healthy control group and two other groups is significant difference (P<0.05);2. There was no significant difference in serum of IL-6, TNF-a and ICAM-1between two groups before treatment(P>0.05).3. After treatment, the levels of serum of IL-6, TNF-aand ICAM-1were obviously decreased in therapy group(P<0.05), but no significant changes were found in control group (P>0.05).Conclusions:1. Effect of Yiqi-Huoxue Decoction (Baoxin Decoction) on coronary heart disease with Qi-deficiency and blood-stasis in patients with angina pectoris is effective.2. Yiqi-Huoxue Decoction (Baoxin Decoction)might work through decreasing the serum levels of TNF-α, IL-6and ICAM-1of patients, which facilitates modulating inflammation, and helps to cure coronary heart disease with angina pectoris(Qi-deficiency and blood-stasis syndrome).
