Objective:To study the expression and significance of Fascin in laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma. Methods:The expression of Fascin was determined by immunohistochemical Elivision method in41cases of laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma patients and34cases of adjacent normal tissue, and also analysed the relationship among expression of Fascin and the patients gender, age, nationalities, clinical and T stages, histological differentiation and lymph node metastasis. Results:The expression rates of Fascin was82.9%and20.6%in41cases of laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma and34cases of adjacent normal tissues, respectively, there was significant differences between two gruops (P<0.05). The positive expression of Fascin was significantly associated with clinical stage,T stage and lymph node metastasis in laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma, and there were no statistical differences among the patient’s gender, age, nationalities and degree of differentiation.(P>0.05)Conclusions:1.The expression of Fascin may be correlated with the invasion and metastasis of laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma.2. The expression of Fascin was correlated with clinical stage.3. Fascin may provide a new targets for predicting patients prognosis of squamous cell carcinoma.
