Objective To study the clinical value of the initial postoperative X-Rayfor cementless total hip arthroplasty in the assessment of prosthesis stability. Methods Cementless total hip arthroplasty was used to treat104cases(113hips) from May2008to January2011.The radiographical evaluationwas performed according to initial postoperative X-Ray and postoperative X-Raywithin two years to observe acetabular anteversion and inclination, femoral stemposition and periprosthetic bone situation changes around the hip. Results In these cases,a total of10cases were instable after totalarthroplasty in two years.2cases had acetabular cup angle changed>5°,2cases had dislocation of femoral head,2cases had periprosthetic fractures,4caseshad prosthesis-bone interface continuous width≥2mm radiolucentline, acetabular anteversion and inclination, femoral stem position andperiprosthetic bone situation in the initial postoperative X-Ray have a closerelationship with the stability of the prosthesis. Conclusion The initial postoperative X-Ray of cementless total hiparthroplasty is able to predict the risk of instability of the prosthesis in the shortterm, this has important clinical value.
