Purpose:To explore the effect and adverse reaction of Tripterygium wilfordii polyglycoside(TWP) and corticosteroid in the treatment of Refractory Nephrotic Syndrome(RNS).Method:This clinical trial selected60patients of RNS,discussed with the randomized method for this reserch. The60cases divided into the observation group (30cases) and the control group (30cases).The two groups were both given prednisone1mg/(kg·d), in the same time the observation group was given TWP1mg/(kg·d) for joint, the control group was given CTX2mg/(kg·d) for joint. Course of treatment was2months. During the observation period all patients stop taking the medication treatment of RNS.Results:After the statistical analysis for the TWP clinical efficacy and adverse effects, in the observation group the total remission rate was93.33%, in the control group the total remission rate was90%, there is no significant difference (P>0.05) compared to two groups. It shows that the effect of the observation group were similar with that of control group. But the two groups have significant difference in terms of improving Traditional Chinese Medicine and western medicine symptoms, such as lowering the urine protein and rising the plasma albumin, the observation group was more effective than the control group. During the treatment, in the observation group the adverse reaction rate was6.67%, which is obviously lower than13.33%of the control group. But after the symptomatic treatment the adverse reaction were both remited. Conclusion:TWP with corticosteroid can effectively treat RNS, and effectively improve edema, high urine protein, low plasma albumin and other syndromes, with little adverse reaction and better drug safety. It provided a new feasible project for clinical treatment of RNS, and was worth popularization.
