Objective:The purpose of this study was to investigate the correlativity expression of Vascular endothelial growth factor C (VEGF-C) and CC chemokine receptor7(CCR7) in Esophageal squamons cell carcinoma (ESCC) as well as the relations with the clinical pathological factors of ESCC. Methods: The specimens were from60ESCC patients who were diagnosed pathologically and operated in the Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery of Affiliated Hospital of Guilin Medical College from2010to2011. The expressions of VEGF-C and CCR7were detected in60cases of ESCC,22cases of adjacent atypical hyperplasia epithelium and60cases of normal esophageal epithelium by immunohistochemical SP method. The expression levels of VEGF-C and CCR7were analyzed by χ2test or Spearman analysis test. Results:1. The expression rates of VEGF-C and CCR7decreased by turns in carcinoma, adjacent atypical hyperplasia epithelium and normal esophageal epithelium specimens (V E G F-C:81.7%,45.5%,16.7%; CCR7:78.3%,45.5%,15.0%). The differences among groups was statistically significant (all P<0.01).2. The expression of these two factors was closely correlated with the lymph node metastasis, infiltrative depth and TNM grade in ESCC (all P<0.05).3.The expression of VEGF-C had positive correlation with the expression of CCR7(P<0.01). Conclusion:1. The high expression of these two factors were in Esophageal squamons cell carcinoma tissue.2. The expression of these two factors was closely correlated with the lymph node metastasis, infiltrative depth and TNM grade in ESCC tissue. the VEGF-C and CCR7protein play an important role in the course of development, progression and lymphatic metastasis of ESCC.3. The expression of VEGF-C protein had positive correlation with the expression of CCR7in ESCC tissue. the cooperation effection of VEGF-C and CCR7may promote lymphatic metastasis in ESCC.4. Combined detection of CCR7and VEGF-C protein expression is helpful for the prognostic judgment and prediction lymph node metastasis of ESCC.
