The genus Incarvillea (Bignoniaceae), contains16species in total, of12species are distributed in China, Incarvillea delavayi, a member of the genus Incarvillea (Bignoniaceae), is mainly distributed in Sichuan (Yanyuan, Daofu), northwestern Yunnan (Dali, Lijiang, Weixi, Zhongdian, Deqin) in China. In Chinese folk medicine, the roots of this plant have been used to treat megrim, anemia, and to relieve fatigue. After searching relevant literature that has been reported about the study for the plants from a member of the genus Incarvillea, we have a explore for chemical constituents from Incarvillea delavayi. The explore is not only important to prompte the nature pharmaceutical chemistry, Previous investigations on this plant have led to the isolation of alkaloids, iridoids, sesquiterpenes, and triterpenoid glycosides. In this dissertation, we studied the chemical constituents of ethanolic extracts of the Incarvillea delavayi collected in Eryuan county, Yunnan province. Thirty-eight compounds were isolated from the whole plant of Incarvillea delavayi by silica gel, Amino silicone, Sephadex LH-20, Neutral alumina, ODS, MPLC, preparative TLC and semi-preparative HPLC chromatographic techniques, and the structures were elucidated on the basis of IR, EI-MS,1H-NMR,13C-NMR and2D-NMR spectroscopic methods, The structures of all compounds are identified as as follows:Tecomine (1)、(+)-epidihydrotecomanine (2)、Alkaloidc (3)、δ-Skytanthine (4)、 Isoinvarvilline (5)、Delavatine C(6)、Delavatine D(7)、Marine B (8)、Delavatine E (9)、(3R)-3-methyl-cyclopentyl [1,2-c] pyridine (10)、(3S)-3-methyl-cyclopentyl [1,2-c] pyridine (11)、(5R,5S)3-Methyl-cyclopentyl [1,2-c] pyridine-5-ol (12)、(-)-tecostidine (13)、(+)-Tecostidine (14)、Delavatine F (15)、Delavatine G (16)、Delavatone A(17)、Delavatone B (18)、Cleroindicin B (19)、Delavadiether (20)、β-sitosterol (21)、β-sitosterone (22).3β-acetyl-oleanolic acid (23)、oleanolic acid (24)、3,4,5-trimethoxy-benzoic acid ethyl ester (25)、3,4,5-trimethoxy-benzoic acid methyl ester (26)、5-hydroxyethyl-6-hydroxy-3-methylb enzofuran(27)、2,3-dihydro-benzofuran-6-ol (28)、2,3-dihydro-benzofuran-6-ol (29)、(2S,6R)-2,6-dimethyl-1,8-octanediol (30)、4-hydroxy-4-methyl-2-pentanone (31)、2,6-dihydrox y-2,6-dimehyl-4-heptanone (32)、6-dihydroxy-2,6-dimethyl-2-heptene-4-one (33)、(2’R)-8-Hydr oxy-3,7-dimehyl-Eight alky acid-(1’,2’-dihydroxy) propyl (34)、(2’R)-8-hydroxy-3,7-dimehyl-eight alky acid-(1’,2’-dihydroxy) propyl (35)、2-dihydroxy-Methyl palmitate (36)、methyl palmitate (37). Among them, compounds6-7、9、15-18、20、27、34-35were determined as new compounds, Compounds1-2、10-14、22-23、25-26、28-29、31-33、36-37were isolated from the genus Incarvillea (Bignoniaceae) for the first time. Compounds3、8、19were isolated from this plant for the first time.11compounds were evaluated for cytotoxicity by MTT assay. But the results show no potent cytotoxicity.Conclusion:37compounds were isolated and identifi from Incarvillea delavayi, of which11compounds were new compounds, and18compounds were isolated from the genus Incarvillea for the first time, and3compounds from this plant for the first time.11compounds were tested for cytotoxicity against human tumor cell lines, and showed no remarkable cytotoxicity..
