Analysis Of Skinfold Thickness Characteristics Of Han Adults In Hebei

ObjectiveTo explore subcutaneous fat characteristics and its change with age bymeasuring the Han adults’s skinfold thickness of Hebei province,The result willprovide theory evidence to improve the Han group’s physique condition. Ourstudy will also provide material to Physical Anthropology and clinical study.MethodSix skinfold thickness items(facia skinfold,biceps skinfold、 tricepsskinfold,subscapular skinfold,suprailiac dkinfold,gastrocnemius skinfold) weremeasured for Han adults(610males and606females) which were all healthyand selected randomly.Analyze the difference between the male and female,thecity and village,then summarize the basic low of the skinfold thickness changingwith age.At the same time,we also compared the Han adults’ skinfold thicknesswith other ethnicity in the world.ResultsIn the six items of skinfold thickness of Han in Hebei province, Themaximum was scapular skinfold, The biceps skinfold was the smallest; Betweenmale and female, female’s items were all higher than male,the difference issignificant(P﹤0.05).For male,city male’s six items of skinfold thickness werehigher than village(P﹤0.05).For female,city female’s biceps skinfold、tricepsskinfold、gastrocnemius skinfold which three stand for the body fat of limbs were lower than village(P﹤0.05),but subscapular skinfold and suprailiac skinfoldwhich stand for the fat of human torso were higher than village(P﹤0.05);Compared with other ethnic groups,Han adults’ items were higher thanOroqin,Ozbeklar,Zhuang,Buyi,Man(Liaoning),Han(Liaoning),Jing,Russian,Japanese,Inuit, lower than American Black and White.Conclusion1. The six items of skinfold thickness of Han in Hebei province were higherthan medium compared with other ethnic groups in our country.Han aduldshave a well-developed subcutaneous fat.2.For the six items of skinfold thickness,conspicuous differences wereexsited in male and female,in city and village of Han in Hebei province.3.Han nationality of Hebei province made a evidence difference at skinfoldthickness with the American white and black showed differences exist in ethnicgroups.
