Objective Supersonic shear wave elastrography(SWE)was used to determine thevalues of overall elastic modulus and dispersion for solid breast lesions,the aim was toevaluate the value of SWE in the diagnosis of benign and malignant breast lesions.Todiscuss the diagnostic value of Supersonic shear wave elastrography(SWE)combinedwith BI-RADS for breast lesions.Methods (1)SWE was performed on134breast lesions of123female patients and74normal breast glands to determine the values of overall elastic modulus anddispersion,and ROC curves were used to assess the diagnosis boundary value of twokinds of data respectively.(2)134breast lesions was classed with standard BI-RADSsupplemented by quantitative SWE examination.The regression equation were builtwith mean elasticity modulus,dispersion(Std) and BI-RADS as independentvariables.The P value is defined as prediction probability,and finding out the bestdiagnostic boundary values by the equation.Results (1)According to the diagnostic gold standard---histopathology,the values ofoverallelastic modulus and dispersion were statistically significant when comparingbenign lesions and malignant lesions with normal glands.(2)ROC curve displayedthat,when the Youden index reached to maximum,the diagnosis boundary value ofoverall elastic modulus is41.01kPa,the sensitivity and specificity of the value were68.5%and83.8%respectively;the diagnosis boundary value of dispersion is12.25kPa,the sensitivity and specificity of the value were87%and88.7%respectively.(3)Area under the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve (AUC) was0.9330in theBI-RADS group,the sensitivity,specificity,accurancy and the Youden index were 0.95652,0.78378,0.85000and0.74031,respectively.(4)AUC was0.9900in the combinegroup,and the above values in the combine group were0.91304,0.98649,0.95833,and0.89953,respectively.Conclusion (1)The values of overall elastic modulus and dispersion for solid breastlesions can be used to reflect the elastic characteristics of lesionsquantificationally,which is useful to diagnose benign and malignant breast lesions inclinical.(2)The prediction probability(P value) can provide an effective help for thediagnosis of benign and malignant in breast lesions.The combination of BI-RADS andshear wave elasticity could improve the differentiation of breast lesions.
