Background and PurposeGastro esophageal reflux disease (GERD) with the symptoms like acid reflux, heartburn can lead to reflux esophagitis and esophagus damage. Gastro esophageal reflux disease, although with the different prevalence in regions of the world and often defined as more in European than Asia years ago, is now a more and more common clinical digestive disease in Asia.Recent years the first-line treatment of GERD is recommended to control the lifestyle related risk factors such as smoking, alcohol consumption, body mass index (BMI) and mental stress factors. More and more research around this subject have been addressed, however the results there is still remain controversy. Therefore it is necessary to take advantage of the existing literature and scientific methodology to further explore the relationship between these factors and GERD.The purpose of this study:1, explore the relationship between lifestyle-related factors, including smoking, alcohol consumption, BMI, mental stress and GERD incidence;2, Provide the evidence for prevention, treatment and management of the GERD patients both in community and clinical levels.MethodPart1:Search the foreign electronic databases and the domestic database by two different person with a well-designed research strategy, and define inclusion and exclusion criteria for taking the research with smoking, Alcohol drinking and GERD incidence. Two researchers independently judging studies met the inclusion criteria or not, quality assessment and data extraction. Data will present by odd ratio(OR) values and relative risk(RR) as indicators of effect (95%confidence interval). The Cochrane Collaboration Revman5.3.2software will be used in statistical analysis.Part II:systematic review of research on the relationship between body mass index and psychological stress factors and gastroesophageal reflux disease, and the development of this topic until now.Results and Conclusionssmoking and drinking are GERD risk factors, especially long time drinking or severe smoking is more highly in risk; The impact of body mass index for Asian populations of gastroesophageal reflux disease needs more high-quality studies to be make a conclusion; Mental health status of GERD patients should be pay more attention.
