The mainland movies adapted from the novels have won a lot of praises in thepublic domain and the academic circles since the80’s.In the total of19golden roosterbest film selections from1981to1999, there are12movies based on the novels. Andthe rise of the fifth generation directors in the world have strong relationship with thenovels. Entering the new century, the adaptation of the novels still have importantsignificance for mainland films.According to‘2011Chinese film industry researchreport’, in2010’s annual domestic mainland top30box office films, though only threedepartment adapted from novels, but won honor of the first place and the second placerespectively (《tangshan earthquake》directed by Feng xiaogang 《bullets fly》directedby Jiangwen)Though the novels have played an important role in pushing thedevelopment of the mainland movies, the educational circles have not given fullattention.The existing research to the similar problems just stay on a particular type ofnovels or movies’ case analysis, or to a part of the problem’s discuss. Obviously it does’thave systemic summary and conclusion. In this paper, it uses the research methods ofthe phenomenology, hermeneutics and reception aesthetics offers a dynamic study of themainland’s adapted movies from novels since80’s.First of all, through the track ofdevelopment of the mainland novels and movies, to obtain the common things of bothin the cultural connotation and concept creation, etc.And detailedly state how the rootsof the new realism novel culture and aesthetics in the process of adaptation penetrateinto the mainland movies. This paper mainly use the narrative perspective from twoaspects of the story,the draw materials of the story to focuses on the the evolution trendin the narrative strategies of mainland movies.And by that, study in-depth through thediversification development of the change of adaptation strategy.The main task of themovie is narrative. The novels provide rich nutrients for movie’s narrative desires.This paper thinks that we should adopt a kind of open dialogue positions and attitudesfor the relationship between the film and novel. On the one hand, we should give fullplay to the mainland movies’ reference in the narratives, absorb the deep cultureconnotation of the novels, and improve the movie itself artistic value and commercialvalue.On the other hand, the cooperation between the novels and the films, there hasachieved considerable returns in the aspect of influence and economy with the aid of themovies’ huge power in popular culture field.Therefore, to discuss the way of cooperation between novels and the movies, the first is to recognize both differences inartistic nature aspect,and then break barriers to achieve the win-win purpose.There is great potential adaptation space and methods of novels for films, so it isan important aspact for mainland films creation to make use of novels.
