In recent years, materials of TCFL have entered a new stage, the guidingprinciple of materials-writing has changed from structure to the combination ofstructure, scenario and function, or the combination of structure, function and culture.In this context, elementary Chinese intensive reading books have improved a lot.Selected three widely-used and influenced primary intensive reading textbookswhich pay great attention to the functional items and scenarios items, the dissertationwill compare the three textbooks in functional items and scenarios items. Comparisonwill be started in four aspects: numbers, sequence, items and frequency. Standardswill be referred to Chinese Teaching Syllabus for Foreign Students in High EducationInstitutions(long-term studies)and Scenario Outline in Primary Stage of TeachingChinese as a Foreign Language. Suggestions about functional and scenario items inprimary intensive reading textbooks will be provided according to the achievementsmade by other scholars related to quantitative research.
