The book overall design, including book cover design and layout design,modern book design should not be merely on the level of feeling, by directmeasurement of the way, to explore the impact of the books of the overall design ofthe readers the effect of eye movement patterns, to find the most excellent form ofdesign, and indirectly promote the consumption behavior of readers, and providesome psychological basis for the editing and publishing research.This study included three experiments. Experiment: watch different locationsbook title and font color and eye movement, using3(book title, location)×2(fontcolor), two factors were within the experimental design, the dependent variable toview photos related to eye movement indices the watchful eye of the number ofoverall viewing time, the region of interest, the average viewing time of the interest,regions of interest, pupil size; experiments: fonts and character spacing of text toread the effects of eye movement research, the use of3(font)×3(character pitch),two factors were within the experimental design, to watch the number of thedependent variable, the average fixation duration, pupil size, back, as the number oftimes to blink and read the correct rate; experiment3: text and background colorcombinations affect the reading efficiency of eye movement research,2(text color)×3(background color), two factors were within the experimental design. Thedependent variable, the average viewing time, the number back and read the correctrate.The results showed that:1、A book title font color and position of the eye movement rule: Book Title blue andblack text, the fixation time to watch a whole book cover has a significant differencein blue font with a gaze longer; in the books of the cover of the central title, thebetter to attract the attention of subjects. Among them, the book title of the blue themiddle of the black central fixation time significantly longer than the upper blue,blue at the bottom of the black upper part and black at the bottom of the blue centralfixation time up. Region of interest for the book title, text the word color and titleposition watching the number on the book title and the main effect of fixation time isa significant difference in pupil size do not have. The interaction of the books titleposition and font colors on the watch time and watched the number of significant,further analysis revealed that, try to use the word color blue, in the book title of thecover of the central, watching the least number, look at the shortest possible time.Blue central part of book titles that arouse the reader’s attention.2、Different fonts and character spacing of the text of the eye move regularity:fonts in watching the number, the average gaze time, pupil size, back number of times such as eye movement indicators, the main effect is not significant with;character spacing in watching the number, the average gaze time, pupilsizesignificant main effect on the back the number of eye movement, using thespacing100of the text was to read the article, look at the least number of averageshortest fixation duration, pupil of the smallest, back to the least number;3、different text color and background color combinations of eye movementpattern: the average viewing time, text color and background color back, as thenumber of times and read a number of significant main effect on the correct rate, theinteraction of the Book text color and background color in the back significant notsignificant in the correct ratio of the average fixation duration and reading; darkbackground-light-colored text and dark text-light background reading efficiency toimprove favorable.
