The Ming and Qing Dynasties is the golden time of our traditional temple fairmaking great progress. As a kind of social form, temple fairs spread all over the northand south, and favored by the majority of the people and taking active part in it.Referred to as the "solid society" in the temple fair, it has rich contents involves manyaspects of social life. In recent years, historians, especially historians pay moreattention to this subject, and have made more some important research results. Forpeople, if you want to know further information of social structure and its operationof the Ming and Qing Dynasties’, temple fairs provides a good incision. Throughstudying to temple fairs in Huaibei Area in during the Ming and Qing Dynasties, wecan understand the beliefs of the ordinary people, leisure and entertainment life andstate spending habits, etc, more clearly. And we can experience the traditionalpolitical power, through the religious beliefs of the enhancement of civil society, thepenetration of control. In the Ming and Qing Dynasties, temple spread through theurban and rural areas. It has become an effective node which linking all kinds ofsocial factors, and the temple fairs offer us a rare dip angle to observe nowadays’Huaibei society. Therefore, strengthening to the study of temple fairs in Huaibei areaduring the Ming and Qing Dynasties has extremely vital significance.This paper mainly has six components, divided into the instruction. The articlesof the main body part three chapters, endnotes and appendix. Instruction of the paperemphasis the temple fair, the origin of it, its meaning, the research present situation ofit, its topic selection basis and its significance. The first chapter mainly discusses theMing and Qing Dynasties in Huaibeiarea gods faith and its characteristics,this paper analyzed the ChengHuang to god, and god’s land, Sam yuan monarch,eight wax god and LiuMeng such as general gods faith, and thoroughly summarizesformed the spirit belief system of historical reasons. Which fully reflects traditionalsocial spirit of faith is pragmatic features. Chapter twoDiscusses the Ming and Qing Dynasty, temple fairs in Huaibei area of time andspace distribution, specific analysis of the pattern of the time and space to form thereasons, and take for case study Mengcheng, reveals a rich a picture of the temple fairs in Huaibei area in late Qing Dynasty. In the third chapter,highlighted to the main function of the temple fairs and its socialimpacts during the Ming and Qing dynasties of Huaibei regions, the author triedusing the related theory of religious sociology of temple fairs religious beliefsfunction analysis. Its cultural entertainment function and the temple fairs’ economicfunction must be given the full, dialectical to analysis the temple fairs the dualism ofthe economic exchanges. Epilogue part, from the macroscopic angle thecomprehensive evaluation of the Ming and Qing dynasties in Huaibei area of thetemple fair development, and puts forward some suggestions to further study.In whole layout of the article, the author always adhering to the regional socialhistory and long periods and bottom-up integrity historical viewpoint, try to usesociology, religion, folklore and the cognitive style of humanities and social sciencecomprehensively. In order to reflect the research results more comprehensively of thetemple fairs during the Ming and Qing dynasties in Huaibei region.
