At present, gratifying progress has been made in the study on stylistics in bothChina and Western countries. However, the role of stylistics in translations has notbeen fully recognized yet. This paper aims at closely associating the literary stylisticswith translation to show the guiding role of literary stylistics in translation. Thus, thispaper chooses Li Qingzhao’s Ci and corresponding English versions for study in orderto demonstrate the great consequence of literary stylistics in translation.In the present paper, features of Ci and distinctive style of Li Qingzhao’s Ci areanalyzed and the literary stylistics is introduced first. Based on Professor Liu Miqing’stheory of stylistic translation, the recognizability of style is demonstrated; and Englishversions of Li Qingzhao’s Ci are studied and analyzed in detail from perspectives ofform markers including phonological, register, lexical, syntactical and rhetoricalmarkers and non-formal markers including technique of expressions and conveyanceof spirits. In this process, it is proved that the literary stylistics can be viewed as thetheoretical standard for reproduction of the style of the original texts in thetranslations.
