The Research On The Figure Of The Animated Characters Designed By Sadamoto Yoshiyuki

Nowadays, character design of China doesn’t have its own style which can not only show self-culture identification but also has a great potential for globalization. For solving this problem, this thesis treats Japanese amine as a learning target. It picks an outstanding Japanese amine character designer named Sadamoto Yoshiyuki and does some research on the works of him to find a break of the amine character design development of China.First, it creates a general figure on each part of his amine character by using linear analysis and finds out the figure data by the method of cartographic and the method of measurement. Then it compares them with the usual figure data from human body to summary several features of the characters and the style of Sadamoto Yoshiyuki’s works. After that, it tries to judge the style of his works from traditional aesthetics in both local and oversea culture and from modern aesthetics using the connection between animation and painting to figure out the deep reasons which control the way of its development. At last, it points out the reason of why Sadamoto Yoshiyuki can make his own style which is very Japanese and can be accepted by the entire world.The innovations of this thesis: Firstly, it starts the research by quantitative approach using mathematical methods to analyze the style of Sadamoto Yoshiyuki’s works. Secondly, it finds out what are the important causes for the success of an amine character and then creates a path for the amine character design of China.Lastly, I use the project of a TV animation named”the Dragon Warriors”,which is developed by the Zhujiang Film Studio in Guangzhou as the practical issue of my thesis. I treat the inspirations from Sadamoto Yoshiyuki’s works as the guide of this practical issue and bring out my own idea of China’s future amine character design.
