With the rapid development of globalization, China and countries in the worldtrade increased, rising international status, Chinese is playing an important role in thetrade. The business Chinese teaching materials couldn’t be the actual businessactivities complete appear in the books. However, the present teaching materialconstruction is most important to update the text content, more true business activities.Teaching materials play a very important part in the language learning, specificallyspeaking, it is a specific reflection in the overall design, and it is the main resourceswhich learners can acquire. So studying the compilation of teaching materials is verymeaningful. According to the characteristics of business Chinese, combining thecomparison of two current books-----<Beijing Business Chinese (Elementary)> and<In To Business With Chinese>, and will find out the advantages and shortcomings ofthem in this paper, to learn from each other, and provide the guides for the compilationof Business Chinese textbooks.Firstly, the author defined the concepts of business Chinese in the paper, and thenconcludes the characteristics of business Chinese by making the connection betweenBusiness and Chinese, Culture, ordinary Chinese clear.Secondly, making comparison and analysis on the parts of compilation, text,vocabulary, grammar, culture and exercise one by one. Based on the fundamentalprinciples of compilation, and combined with the characteristics of business Chinese,the author analyzed the advantages and disadvantages of these two textbooks oncompiling and grasped the differences of business topics selection and vocabularyquantities in the two books by using statistics charts methodology. As for Grammar,these two books both followed the principle which is “less emphasis on grammar,enhanced communication”, and listed the useful sentence patterns after each passage tomake convenience for learners. In these two books, both combined communicationculture with intellectual culture, to make Chinese culture and business communicationinosculate better together. According to the different demands of learners, the editors prepared some corresponding exercises. In order to expand the Chinese knowledge andChinese culture knowledge, the editors compiled supplementary business materials.After exhaustive examination of the previous parts, the author tabled someproposals in terms of editing this Elementary Business Chinese Textbook throughmacroscopic and microcosmic perspectives at the end of this article. In order to strictlyfollow up the development of Business Chinese and satisfy both teachers’ teachingrequirements and the Business Chinese learners’ individual demands, macroscopicallywe can fully absorb the advanced editing theory of both domestic and foreign.Microcosmically, taking attempt to edit in multiple ways, such as the use ofSino-foreign co-editor of form, more in-depth understanding of foreign languagecharacteristics and acquisition rule; preparing assignments for recite from theperspective of learners; providing accurate post of new words learning. If can makeany tiny contribution to compiling textbook in the future after analysis, the authorwound sincerely feel comfort in my heart.
