As the basis of teaching and learning, the teaching material of TCSL has a function that can not be neglected. The teaching material needs more researches and analyses to get perfection. The main purpose for writing this thesis is to provide some advice and make an effort to the development of teaching material of TCSL through analyzing Leap Intensive Chinese Textbook Series which are published by Central China Normal University Press from both theories and practice.Based on the idea of "separating speech from script, listening and speaking first, followed with recognizing and reading, emphasizing reading and writing", Leap Intensive Chinese Textbook Series are modularized teaching materials and has innovative and unique parts. With analyzing the content and the advice after using these two teaching materials, this thesis hopes to give some advice for the teaching progress and the further development of teaching materials.This thesis consists of five parts:The first part is forward. It introduces the meaning and value of this thesis, the object, content and method of the research. Also, the related researches are mentioned in this part.The second part has a description of the ideas and principles of the compiling as well as the structures of these two textbooks.The third part is about the analysis of the content. It carries out from four parts: vocabulary, grammar, text and exercise. And then it talks about the connection of the two textbooks.The fourth part is the opinion and advice given by the students and teachers after using the textbooks.The last part is the writer’s proposal for compiling the primary-staged teaching materials, in hope of giving some help to the teaching progress and the compiling of teaching materials.
