Culture is an important foundation of a nation and national survival anddevelopment. Culture is also an important symbol of ethnic differences betweendifferent nations. National independence, revitalization, social progress anddevelopment are inseparable from the support of culture.Culture is an important force to promote the city’s sustainable development. TheParty Congress put forward the strategy of promoting the development and prosperityof culture, and enhancing the national cultural soft power. Guangdong provincialParty committee, the seventh session of the tenth plenary meeting put forward a newspan to accelerate implementation of Guangdong from big cultural province to strongcultural province; Zhuhai municipal the eighth session of the sixth plenary meetingmakes “Prosperity of Culture” sessions of the" culture" one of the important goals ofthe construction of the Pearl River core cities with the accelerating of the citymodernization pace. People clearly realize that the economic and social developmenthas more and more used the culture form, and culture has begun to have stronger andstronger pushing power for economic society. If there is no cultural connotation in acity, then there is no ideal and soul, and the city will lose the durable power ofdevelopment. This article analyses the existing problems and reasons in the cultureconstruction of the new period cities through interpretation of the concept of cityculture construction. The article also puts forward the path and road of cultureconstruction of new period city.The article is divided into four parts, and contents of each part are as follows:The first part: the introduction part mainly introduces the basis and significance ofthe research, literature review and research thought and methods. This part mainlyfocuses on the structure and content of introduction.The second part: city culture construction theory. First discusses the city culturalconnotation, mainly the basic explanation related to the concepts, and then, briefly introduces the basic content of the city culture construction. Finally the significanceof the city culture construction. The part makes readers aware of the meaning of cityculture construction from connotation and extension of the city cultural construction.The third part: Zhuhai city culture construction present situation analysis. The partfocuses on the cultural undertakings and industry achievements in Zhuhai in recentyears. This part also points out problems at present in Zhuhai city culture construction,and analyses the causes of the problems.The fourth part: the exploration path of Zhuhai city cultural construction. This partexpounds the routes of Zhuhai city culture construction from seven aspects. It willprovide reference to the city culture construction to Zhuhai and other cities from thetheoretical and practical point of view, in the light of Zhuhai city cultural constructionproblems, through the implementation of seven projects.
