In modern research on Qi Baishi, basically limited to the field of traditionalpainting. As modern Chinese painting developed into two systems: one is integratedChinese and Western-style system led by Xu Beihong, Lin Fenmian; the other ispure traditional system represented by Wu Changshuo, Qi Baishi, Huang, Binhong,Pan Tianshou. Qi Baishi was under the education of entirely Chinese painting style,and the term realism painting is from Western painting, so it seems that Qi Baishihas nothing to do with realism. In fact, back in the 1930s, Xu Beihong highlyregarded Qi Baishi’s paintings, as a realist painter, respected a traditional Chinesepainter, in addition to the resonance in Chinese painting, there must be realism too.Especially in the twenty-first century, a variety of academic thought frequentcollisions, more and more realist painter love and learn from Qi Baishi’s works, mymentor Mr. Xu Yong is one of them. Under the influence from Mr. Xu Yong, I read alot of Qi Baishi’s works, and research articles, during the graduate school time, thus itoccurred to me that write a paper about interpretation of Qi Baishi’s works from anrealism perspective, and it has been strong supported by relative teachers.Can realist painting in the definition and scope of the office, and thensummarizes the characteristics of realistic painting. As a theoretical basis, thetechnique of expression through painting subjects, painting and language to interpretthe works of Qi Baishi, a realistic painting elements contained in these three areas.On the basis of summed up the Qi works contain elements of realism, I further itscauses study by Qi Baishi personal experience and the traditional culture of twoaspects. The two discussed the influence of traditional culture into traditionalphilosophy and the extension of knowledge the observation of the investigation ofthings. In the explanation of the "extension of knowledge the observation of theinvestigation of things, I again observed characteristics of Qi Baishi, Huang, Li Keranthree individuals were compared, and further highlights the characteristics of QiBaishi.Speaking of inspiration aspects of Qi Baishi’s works of realist painting, I willfocus on two aspects of the creative subject (painter) and the creation of the object(the life and works of art) to talk about. I speak in the first aspect of the artist payattention to their own creativity and how to deal with the subject matter of the depthand breadth; In the second aspect, I mainly talk about the observation of life andperformance life, creating and perfecting and break through the three aspects of themanifestation made a summary of the relationship between the work of Qi Baishi andrealism painting.
