Investigation On Cultivation Actuality Of MTCSOL

In2009Lanzhou University established the Master of Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages (MTCSOL). As one of the schools that has it, and set up School of Chinese Literature as the training unit for it, in cooperation with International Cultural Exchange School. Starting from the autumn of2009, school began to enroll scholarship students of the Confucius Institute, and now a day the total number of the scholarship students became42students, and there are21students have already graduated. In September2010in School of Chinese Literature MTCSOL began to enroll Chinese students, and now a day there are123master degree students. Lanzhou University’s MTCSOL now has186Chinese and foreign students. This research surveyed all of them, targeted to investigate Current Situation of Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages in the school. The survey covered the basic situation of the students, studying status, psychological status, graduation planning, graduation whereabouts, the living conditions of the foreign students, the social interaction situation, the Chinese culture and Chinese language acceptance...etc. According to the survey results, look forward to further strengthen the applicational and practical ability in educational mode and the sustainability, openness in teaching system. Try our best to make MTCSOL in School of Chinese Literature Lanzhou University to a base to train personnel for Chinese international education with qualified professors and standard teaching management. And promote the Chinese language to the world, spread the Chinese culture and promote international exchange, based in western China, and radiation in Central Asia and other regions in order to cultivate high-level, composite, applied, international Chinese language well cultivate teachers.
