As a very important branch of Chinese painting, Landscape painting has a profound effect in history and unique aesthetic implication. In this article we are intended to elucidate how the Spirit of Landscape performans in Chinese landscape painting from the Six Dynasties to the Five Dynasties. We will research theory of painting, poetry and historical record to find the development path of the Chinese landscape painting and the reason it developed.In the first chapter, the performance of landscape spirit during the Six Dynasties is discussed. The early painters try to take great pains to portray the details of things as a result of Guo Xiang’s Tiwu theory. In Chapter II, we will investigate the development of landscape painting from Sui Dynasty to Flourishing Tang. The spirit of landscape is manifested as magnificent momentum and gorgeous appearance. In Chapter III, we find the painters prefer inner thinking than external observing in the Five Dynasties.we can have a general understanding of the development and evolution path of the Chinese landscape painting from the Six Dynasties by investigating the Theory of Painting, poetry and prose during this age. It is a process that artists deeply recognize the laws of art. We will find how the aesthetic fashion changes in the end.
