The Study Of The Format "Da X Da Y" In Modern Chinese

The "da X da Y" is a common format used in high frequency in modern Chinese, but the research about this format is not very much.This article attempts to study the format on the basis of the previous studies, using combined description and explanation, with a combination of form and meaning, by the grammar of three plane theory as the instruction. The article attempts to do a comprehensive investigation and analysis on the the format of the internal structure, semantic features, syntactic function, pragmatic value and so on. In this paper the basic idea and the main points are as follows:The introduction mainly describes the subject of this article and the significance, the research status, research reviews and existing problems, as well as the major source of data.The first chapter analyzes the internal constitution of the format. The format can be divided into two parts:Invariant component and a variable component. This paper firstly analyzes the part of speech and meaning of the constant composition "big", to determine the "big" in the format in which the part of speech is mainly to form adverbs associate syntactic category, secondly dividing the variable component into chimeric type and combination type from the form angle, dividing it into nouns, verbs, adjectives, distinguishing word, onomatopoeia five categories from POS point of view, and then examing the "big" and "X, Y" combined coagulation strength.The second chapter mainly analyses the syntactic function of the format. The format in the sentence has a flexible and freedom position, can be used as subject, predicate, object, attribute, adverbial, complement and other syntactic constituents.Third chapter mainly analyzes the semantic feature of the format of "da X da Y". First divided the meaning relationship of the format into related, similar, instead, relative, and then analyzes the location transformation problem of the embedded components X and Y, and at last format the internal semantic relationships fall into five broad categories:the additive type combination relation, value, overlapped combination relations, staggered relationship.The last part is the conclusion of the article, this part focuses on analyzing the innovation aspect of the form,the semantic and the pragmatics in the article, at the same time,the author raised that there is some not perfect place and need to be further explored.
