Vietnam oversea Chinese Community entered transformation periodof self-identity recognition after1945. Their social identityrecognition transformation is mainly reflected in two aspects includingnational identity recognition and ethnic identity recognition.“Nationalidentity recognition plays a dominant role in this transformation”, whichis the most fundamental transformation in the identity recognition ofVietnam oversea Chinese Community after1945, embodied in the changeof nationality and the improvement of political status. Vietnam overseaChinese Community is made up of the ethnic Chinese, and thetransformation of their ethnic identity recognition affects thesocial development. Ethnic identity recognition transformation is mainlyreflected in four aspects: community identity–change from multi toconsolidation; ethnic identity-the decline of the its impact; culturalidentity-the dual cultural identity will coexist for a long time; the viewof coming back to hometown change to settling in oversea.There are many factors influencing the identity transformation ofVietnam oversea Chinese Community since1945, including the influenceof Vietnam, China, international community and Vietnam overseaChinese Community. Changes in the China-Vietnam relations haveprofound impact on the development of Vietnam oversea ChineseCommunity, which are the unique factors that affect the identity changesof Vietnam oversea Chinese Community.With the guide of the Overseas Chinese identity theory, adopting theliterature analysis method, field research method and comparativeanalysis method, combine the Vietnam oversea Chinese Community withthe global background, analyzing the identity transformation of Vietnamoversea Chinese with the change of external factors of Vietnam, Chinaand international community, the paper aims to make the comprehensiveunderstanding of the Vietnam oversea Chinese Community, deepen theunderstanding of it, and make the contribution to give full scope to the bridge and link function of Overseas Chinese and promote thefurther development of the Sino-Vietnam relations.
