With the improvement of living standards and consumption levels, people’saesthetic tastes and lifestyles are changing. For household ceramic products, the pastshapes and patterns can’t meet the needs of the contemporary people any more,especially for the young who pay more attention to the quality of life and pursue theirpersonality. Moreover, the ceramic products closely linked with daily life have becomean effective way of highlight the tastes for the young. Meanwhile, with the increasinglyaccelerating pace of life and the rising life pressure, people’s requirements for interestingliving goods are improving. At present, ceramics industry in China has shown aslow-paced development, which has association with the fact that the development of theindustry design falls behind that of other countries, but the root of the problem isignoring the innovation of products.Conceptual Design is a design form in the future period, the key task of which isdiscovering the products’ future selling point. Therefore, Conceptual Design can helpceramic products find themselves in an advantageous position in the market and improveproducts’ competitiveness. In the paper, Conceptual Design theory has been applied intothe study of ceramic products.The focuses are on the study of future consumerpsychology and life habits, the innovation on products’ techniques and the accuratelocation for products’ future market with the purpose of realizing the development ofceramic industry. In addition, the author makes analysis of the products’ concept, model,crafts, brand building and so on, searching for innovative ways and breakthroughing theformer study methods of daily use ceramics innovation by demonstrating the advantagesof taking various innovation ways from the cognitive perspective of Conceptual Designtheory.
