The Time Recording System is both part of the traditional culture and true portrayal of different ancestors’ lives. Migration’s long and its time and space, have been handed down in the history of literature and contemporary literature in the carrier, manifestations and methods are different from today, especially in ancient literature language of the time. So the concept of "time", get quasi-ancient literature, both to know and understand, sorting, and an important link to the study of ancient literature must be mastered. As in recent years a large number of discovering unearthed, collate and published, it opens a window of the ancient society of an observation for researchers.This paper uses published data discovering in recent years, combined with existing research, trying to sort out and to explore the contents of the time recording system in Qin and Han. We will use the continuity of the material of the time recording materials in the bamboo slips unearthed.We will do a comb:Qin and Han bamboo slips one day and night are divided into ten, twelve, ten various situations such as the number of six, twelve eighteen different time system. In addition, we can also see the day time is divided into twelve parts, five parts, four parts from the daybook. In short, the daybook division of time is confused, how to divide the day mainly depending on the specific needs of divination.Twelve time system in the Qin and Han bamboo slips was used to speculate good or bad fortune of the day, it was not the actual use of the life. According to records unearthed documents and statistical analysis of the results of the Han Dynasty practiced at least in Hexi and Dunhuang region is the sixteen time system. The reason of a day divided into sixteen times is not clear, and divided into twelve parts is the result of introduce the twelve branches to the time system.
