The Study Of The Time Expressions On Bamboo-slips Of The Qin Dynasty

Time is related to people’s lives closely, the time recording system not only reflects the culture at that time,but also include rich linguistic and cultural connotation.The time recording methods in ancient China are rich and variety, it is unique of the time recording system that bamboo slips of the Qin Dynasty.The unearthed literature, the bamboo slips of the Qin Dynasty retained a large number of reliable time recording methods of the Qin Dynasty.That will help us to know the culture of the Qin Dynasty.In this paper,we will study ten kind bamboo slips of the Qin Dynasty,this paper includes the following three aspects:(1) Time hierarchy system,including the ways to record hours、the ways to record days、the ways to record months、the ways to record years and three time system;(2)The time adverb;(3) Atemporal factor composed time expression time-leading prepositions verb that composed time structure.This thesis consists of the following five parts:Chapter1is an introduction,that mainly discussed the definition,properties and research situation of time category, ideas and methods.Chapter2is a study of the ways of recording hours.There are mainly three kind of recording hours methods:recording time by period,the time terminology, the ways of recording hours by clepsydra.The ways of recording time is by period in the general literature and in the Qin bamboo slips of Rishu, it is diverse of the time terminology in Rishu,there are three ways of recording time terminology in three Rishu: twelve Hours Rule,sixteen Hours Rule,twenty-eight Hours Rule,we will explan these time terminologies one by one,and related to contemporary twenty-four hours rule.It is fist time found the ways of recording hours by clepsydra.Chapter3is a study of the ways of record days、months、years and so on, we will separatal study those by general literature and Rishu,we found that there are many days designated by the Heavenly Stems and Earthly Branches,there are a lot of examples of recording days only by the Earthly Branches,there are some examples of recording days by the Ordinal,there is a small part of examples of recording days by the Heavenly Stems and Earthly Branches and the Ordinal, there are a lot of day-choosing terms. It is a feature of recording days by astrology in Rishu on the Qin Bamboo Slips.the ways of recording months is less than days.No matter general literature or Rishu,it is dominant record months by the ordinal,the method of recording years is singel.Chapter4is a study of adverb of time, we classified the time adverb.We will analysis of time adverbs’cognitive models on the basis of grammaticalization.Finally, we will cmpare the Inscriptions on Tortoise Shells or Bones or on Bronzewares and bamboo slips of the Qin Dynasty’s time adverbs comparative study.Chapter5is about atemporal factor composed time expression from the perspective of cognitive science.Part1is time-leading prepositions,such as:zi(自)、ji(及)、zhi(及), part2is a study about verb that composed time structure,such as:zu (�'),yin (盈), guo (过).
