Research On The Style Of "Hongduanzi" In The Emerging Media

Duanzi, as a term, is usually used in crosstalk, storytelling etc. Entering age ofthe multimedia based on the Internet and cell phones, the original "Duanzi" is given anew look and even richer content. For example,"Red Duanzi" is exactly one specialkind of language form in new media. It was first seen from the debute text messagecompetition organized by Guangdong Branch, China Mobile. This competitionsuggested that users should send text messages such as inspiring sentences, proverbs,wishes or funny lines to compete.As a language form in a new media,"Red Duanzi", which is prospective, is theproduct of both the age and the technology. It is a kind of orally-altered writtenlanguage which is formed in some specific background. Hence, it is rich for itsresearch value and the prospect.Based on the resources collected so far, the research on language in new media ismostly focused on culture, pragmatics and rhetoric, etc. The academic circle has notyet given much research on the language style. Hence, this paper regards "RedDuanzi" as the object of study, and try to summarize its basic features and main types.We will start with the language features of "Red Duanzi" to analyse its essentialfactors. Through the research of the sound feature, we will analyse how the sound, therhyme and the tune work together to bring out the inspiring spirit. Through the use ofdifferent kinds of vocabularies in "Red Duanzi", we will explore how the words arechosen based on different contents. Through its changeable structure rules, we mayfind the unique language style of "Red Duanzi" which is full of changes.Based on the common knowledge of rhetoric field, language is divided into twomain aspects-written and oral. The written language covers transaction volume,scientific volume, political volume and arts volume. Hence, we will go deeply into theresearch that analyses whether "Red Duanzi" has the abilities of the language stylementioned above. we will also explore the origin and the developing pattern of thiscross-language style, and analyse the style features within different language style.In the eyes of the Linguistics,"Rad Duanzi" is a kind of unique language phenomena. However, how did it start? We will explain that from the field ofcommunication studies, and analyse big part played for the form of the main parta,contenta, the media and the objects.
