Headlines Language Contrastive Analysis Between New Media And Traditional Paper Media News

The most obvious sign of an information society is the rapid development of the Internet.The Internet has completely transformed people's traditional ways of newspaper reading.Reading online news has increasingly become the main news reading method for the masses.Serving as the eyes of online news,cyber news headlines deeply immerse into all aspects of daily life.By collecting,analyzing and sorting relevant corpus,this paper mainly analyzes and compares the language expression characteristics of news headlines taken from People's Daily new media and its counterpart,traditional People's Daily print media.This paper takes news headline language as the research object and collects nearly 25,000 data.To start with,this paper analyzes the headlines from traditional paper-based media People's Daily and its three online counterparts,namely People's Daily official website,People's Daily Sina Weibo and People's Daily Wechat.After that,it focuses on analyzing the grammatical features of these headlines and tries to make a comparison.It gives a detailed analysis on the use of "A:B" news headlines.It uses statistical methods to outline the sentence types in news headlines.Also,this paper talks about complicated semantic relationship among the clauses in the news headlines,such as transitional,explanatory and cause-effect relationships,and narrows down to some popular new formats appearing in the news headlines.Finally,targeting on the topic of NPC and CPPCC,the paper contrasts and concludes the headline language styles of new media and that of traditional media news.The study finds that online news headlines and traditional paper news headlines are closely related while enjoying their own characteristics.The contrastive analysis of news headlines reflects various cognitive and psychological development.The comparative study of news headline language can deepen the understanding of the relationship between journalism and language,more effectively understand and grasp language features of news headlines,help achieve the innovation and breakthrough of traditional news headlines,promote the standardization of network news headlines,boost mutual learning as well as communication between journalism and linguistics,and enhance the development of news linguistics.
